‘I promise’ reeks of ‘never’ and ‘forever’, of ‘always’ and ‘absolute’. There’s no such thing in a world like ours; there are no certainties, no perfectly solid realities…

We live in a universe of shards, pieces of the pure: we only have a sliver of Darkness and an equal amount of Light; we cannot comprehend them in their perfect form. We only know a fragment of Love, the greatest intensity our flawed and fragile human bodies can handle, which still isn’t perfect; we would break under its full burden. Ah, Truth, the farthest away from the ideal, which, in itself, can only be limited because of our own nature. We are subjects to our feelings, cravings, needs and desires, all weaknesses in their own right, not counting all the vices and addictions we create for ourselves. And we dream of freedom…

We are such fools! It is unattainable, for we weave our own chains to keep us in the muck we so love to despise and cry against. No wonder there is so much hope placed in the Heavens, that lades the wings of Angels. They fall and we call them Daemons, bearers of our evils, misfortunes and shortcomings; they even hold our broken hopes and dreams. Humanity is such a selfish creature!
